Gastropods
The best gastropod award goes to these two specimens of the
ornate monoplacophoran, Phragmolites dyeri. found by Cindy. Nice!
Click here to see Cindy's photos of the other great fossils she found in the
trip that day!
Second place goes to this large internal mold of a
gastropod.
What appears to be rock at the base is actually another whorl of the snail
shell.
Here are two more kinds of Gastropods we found: The
monoplacophoran Sinuites and a spired gastropod, maybe Lophospira.

Here is double specimen, a high spired
snail, maybe Paupospira, next to a short spired one, probably a
platycerid.
Lots of other gastropod internal molds were found, like the
one shown below.
This next gastropod has some nice low spires. It could be a Liospira.

Cephalopods
Not many Cephalopods were found. None coiled as in previous
trips. Here's a picture of a small fragment. It's still not a bad
specimen.
Group Portraits.
Here are the pictures of some of the collections that members gathered that day. Enjoy.
Additionally, Education Chair Greg Courtney made some videos of the trip that day, Click HERE to see them at YouTube.com. THANKS GREG!
That's all for this month. Join us next month for a trip to horn coral heaven!
